FAQs: Pick-Your-Own

Our designated Pick-Your-Own field contains numerous berries, herbs, flowers, hot peppers, and more. Shareholders have open access to this field during pick-up hours.

  • The grassy areas around the PYO field, picnic tables, and seating are available for our shareholders during pick-up hours. Please relax and enjoy our beautiful spaces!

  • Pruners and scissors are provided for shareholder use.

  • Please walk on designated pathways and be careful not to disturb or damage our spectacular flora.

  • ‘Be kind and leave some behind.’ Shareholders will receive plastic pint containers for raspberries, strawberries, and blueberries that are outside the designated Pick-Your-Own Field. Please take no more each week (unless we communicate otherwise) so that other shareholders have access to these wonderful berries.

  • If you need assistance due to personal health or mobility concerns, please let our staff know, and they will be happy to accompany you or assist on your behalf.

  • We recognize that shareholders come from all levels of gardening and harvesting expertise. If you are unsure what is available or ripe, or how to use certain herbs or vegetables, please let our staff know or refer to our recipes for ideas!

  • The PYO fields offer a wide variety of items for shareholders, and we are always looking to provide the options you want. Please send your suggestions to community@homefields.org if there’s something you want to see.
