Picnic at the Farm logo: Green type on a yellow plate, on a red and white checkerboard tablecloth

Sunday Sept. 24, 2023, 11:00 AM–3:00 PM

Our annual Picnic at the Farm is an outdoor celebration of our farmers, food, and community, with live music, games, activities, and a menu that spotlights the bounty of Homefields Care Farm. Proceeds go to the maintenance of our homes, property, and care farm, providing options for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

Miller’s Smorgasbord crafted our menu with vegetarian and vegan options:

Watermelon Gazpacho in “shooters” • Smoked Brisket • Baked 8-piece Chicken • Two barbecue sauces from Smokehouse BBQ and Grill • Vegan Baked Beans • Fingerling Potatoes with fresh herbs • Pepper Slaw • Tomato, cucumber, and onion Salad • Potato Rolls • Corn Muffins • Fruit Salad • Pineapple Upside Down Cake • Peach Cobbler

activities

Education students from the Lancaster County Career and Technology Center provided kid-friendly activities such as a seed-planting project and a make-your-own flower craft kit.
